Artist Statement

As an artist and an individual, I am interested in the reinterpretation of experiences, feelings and concepts through an exploration of symbols and materiality. This reinterpretation is a way for me to make the subject matter tangible and valuable.

When working three dimensionally, I challenge myself in using raw and eclectic materials. I transform and emphasis the formal and symbolic proprieties of objects to make them eye catching and brain engaging.

My two-dimensional works are often more illustrative. I like to use images as words to create a visual discourse. This discourse can be personal and cryptic or very literal and descriptive, depending on the audience I am targeting and the purpose of the work.
